RSSA DOC Whakapapa concession submission.

Updated: 5 days ago

Kia ora, tēnā koutou

Well, the RAL ski field insolvency has been like a long precarious double black ski run, but we are almost at the end and with very tired legs!

Following is the link to the RSSA DOC Whakapapa concession submission.

This was informed by surveys to our membership and reflects the majority of concerns and wishes. Of course, we believe the concession application is a foregone conclusion and the concession will be granted to WHL. This will mark the end of an important 70 year chapter in NZ ski history, of a ski field developed, owned and funded by passionate skiers.

However, we do have some concerns which we have outlined in our submission in the hope that these will be addressed by the Crown and DoC to ensure an even stronger Whakapapa Ski field for the next 70 years.

We have advocated as best we can on behalf of our members for the past two years and regardless of whatever your views, we are all passionate skiers and snowboarders, lovers of the Maunga, everything it represents, and everything that happens with it.

So, whatever happens, this coming season let's all show that passion and get back to what we love.

Happy snow trails and see you on the slopes!

Ngā mihi nui
