We live in a democratic country. One where we have the opportunity to support (or not) significant changes being made. One where you can share your thoughts and feelings about things that affect you.

You have two days left to do this for Tūroa.

Whether you know all of the financial and legal aspects of the Pure Tūroa Limited (PTL) Concession application, or simply have a gut feeling about the changes, sharing these with the Department of Conservation (DoC) is important.

Our team of volunteers have put together a sample application with some of the more technical things that you can include, or you can simply write how you feel about the changes here.

The sample application includes points such as:

• The short term of the concession.

• Privatisation before Tongariro National Park treaty claim(s).

• Lack of sufficient disclosure of important information.

• The smaller ski field.

• Whakapapa being excluded (splitting the two ski fields).

• Short negotiation and consultation period.

• Extensive redactions (hiding) of names (e.g. Directors of PTL).

• Complete redaction of iwi engagement.
